Thanks for that warning, I've used mine in the pool, ocean bath, etc no issues with the first gen
Pebble will contionue long after the servers shut down - REBBLE are setting up a new app/server/app store/environment for all Pebbles going forward and FitBit have extended the life of the Pebble Servers to the end of June so that the Rebble guys can get the platform up and running.
It will more-or-less be a case of downloading a new Rebble app and then syncing the watch to the phone all over again...pretty simple.
What does that mean? Pebbles will keep on keeping on unti lthere are no working models left. And there are still a few for sale on Amazon.

My Pebble Time2+ is well and truly on it's way out (massive crack across the screen).
I'm waiting for this:

Cost me USD$129 shipped to NZ and is due for release *really* soon (April?)
I want a watch with smart features versus a smart watch.
If I recall correctly, the watch features last up to 60 days, the smart features up to 10 days.
It's IP67 (splash+dust resistant).
I had considered getting one of the earlier generation Martian Watches, but luckily held off long enough to discover they were doing this model (should have guessed when I started seeing the older models getting sold off!).

WolfmanNZ:As an aside for anyone still using their Pebble 2 watches, I would no longer trust the '30 meter water resist' part of the feature list. The missus and I were swimming in surf with the the kids a month back and both our Pebbles died that same afternoon. I guess the seals didn't last.
@dryburn - Thanks SO much for your post! I had been looking at the Fitbit Ionic but was a bit concerned with the price through and the short battery life.
I have now purchased and received my Amazfit Bip from Dick Smith. It's one of the few things I've purchased recently that exceeds my expectations. Really good value for money! Can highly recommend to anyone who is looking for something similar. The only thing I'd like to see would be the ability to answer calls on the watch. Other than that, seems to do what I want.
Thanks again!
