Well therein lies the ambiguity...
Group L vehicles are pretty much motorbikes, mopeds etc
Group M vehicles are pretty much cars, vans, utes, etc
10.3(3) A motor vehicle of Group L may be fitted with one or two daytime running lamps to the front of the vehicle.
Would imply motorbikes
10.3(4) A motor vehicle of Group M or Group N may be fitted with one pair of daytime running lamps to the front of the vehicle
Would imply cars
But then the prior link on the NZTA site specifically (perhaps generically) states:
- You can fit up to two daytime running lamps to your vehicle. If your vehicle already has two daytime running lamps as original equipment, you can’t fit a second pair. On some vehicles, daytime running lamps operate as a function of the main beam headlamp.
I'm going with 2 x DRLs, and having them power off when headlights are on. WOF not til end of next year, I'll deal with it then.
Already bought the relay which I'll run prior to the 2nd LED driver, from what I can see it will be:
Relays pins:
85 = GND (BLACK wire)
30 = +'ve from ignition (YELLOW wire in my case)
87a = +'ve to DRL (LED driver RED wire in my case)
86 = +'ve from headlight switch (BLUE wire)
87 = +'ve from headlight (RED wire)
Yet to test...
EDIT: Oops, blue wire, not green :-)
