davidcole: I want to see the continuation of size increases of the roll up tvs. First year 19” last year 40”. Wake me up when they hit projector screen size.

Not quite to projector screen size, but LG have announced their 65” Signature R roll up TV. I guess my wallpaper TV is old hat now. I figure a price of about $NZ15000 when first released (65” W was $12000 initially) so not really a player for most.
When I can replace my 100” roll down projector screen with one without having to take out another mortgage, it may be worth considering.

Hoping by the time we redo one room where we're looking at a projector, that I'll be able to put one of these roll up screens instead....for slightly better contrast rates and without it needing to be quite so dark.

The prime application I can see for these is in apartments where the only place to put a big TV is in front of the window that has your view as well. In my case, the screen drops down in front of a glass slider that I wouldn't want permanently blocked by a big screen.
For the price of one of these you are probably going to be able to get a 3 laser 8K projector in he near future, so I think the apartment scenario, particularly if renting, will be the niche for these.

Edit: Surprisingly, when I showed my wife the YouTube video of the roll up, she was quite enthusiastic. So let the long term plotting begin ☺️.

Edit2: Still waiting for Google Assistant in LG TV announced at last year's CES.
