Extremely likely this is the case. Not many at all out there that use licensed bands except for possibly a mw link to a very heavy isolated site

Yup and you need to duck for cover the second you suggest we should look at regulation in the WISP market, it is backyard boys that don't know anything any engineering too...

Just wait to LAA is used and there is pressure for that to happen ;)

Actually a lot of the early WISPs are starting to migrate to licensed frequencies for a number of reasons. Whether its an increase in funding (eg RBI 2) or link quality requirements, the message that trying to offer commercial services in shared spectrum can be problematic, is slowing getting through. Primo in Taranaki and Gisbourne.net are two that spring to mind.
