Put a dog in the shed. A dog with bees in its mouth and when it barks it shoots bees. Make sure it's an angry dog.

Hope this helps.

Don't bother with CCTV (they'll just wear a hoodie) just something that DOES attract attention, someone needs to pay attention and scare them off or alert the Police. They don't like Police dogs.

I would buy a cheap-as alarm system from AliX. That will give you a mains operated base station and siren and some remote sensors which are battery powered and have a wireless connection to the base station.

The sensor or sensors go in and around the shed and the base station is in the house. The siren goes on the outside of the house positioned so that it will heard by those inside the house and anyone breaking into the shed.

You will need to change the batteries now and then but that is all.

If all you want is a base station and a couple of sensors, you can get a system for less than $100.

If you want to pay a couple of hundred you can get something that will send you an email or SMS as well as setting off the siren.

matabo:

I won't deter but might identify the crooks, you might like to install a solar security camera if no power is available.Wish have them, if you do, get one that has external access to the memory card.

Put a motion-triggered camera inside the shed. Doesn't matter if it's not so good, it only needs to detect any motion at all (vs a closed, empty shed) and take a single photo.
