I have ordered mine at NL Massive sellout for 149$. I haven't received the item yet. NL agent got back to me yesterday and said the I might be able to get early to mid next week.

Have contacted Samsung as well, this is the reply I got from Samsung NZ.

SmartThings has now arrived at Noel Leeming, Newmarket.  ...or at least my pre-order arrived instore at Noel Leeming Newmarket this evening.

Most of the NL staff still no nothing about SmartThings, or that they have some stock out the back of the store (5 x Hubs, but not sure what else) and nothing has been put out in the shop shelves, yet.  So I recommend phoning them before making the trip.

There is still nothing on the Noel Leeming website about the, but SmartThings did appear for sale on the Samsung NZ site last weekend. But, when queried at the time, they did admit that the stock was held up with Customs and hadn't clear yet.  I'm assuming it's all cleared now, otherwise, NL wouldn't have received the various devices I ordered.

disillusioned: I would imagine it will still have Zigbee and Z-wave (with AU/NZ frequencies). Don't see why they would exclude those...

Yep, it's both Zigbee and Z-Wave AU/NZ frequencies (pic from the back of the Hub I just received)

It’s a shame they don’t have the WiFi router version like RACV are selling in Oz. I’d much prefer having a single solution for WiFi and automation.

Currently have the following working:

2x Z wave Aeotec Multisensor 6 - Worked without special devices handlers. Z wave devices from https://www.activeautomation.co.nz/ a year or so ago.

1x Z Wave Aeotec Power monitoring Plug - Worked without special devices handlers

1x XiaoMi Plug - Used bspranger device handlers. Pairing XiaoMi devices is a mission.  You need to keep pressing the pair button 10-20 times in close range.

1x XiaoMi Temp Sensor - as above

1x XiaoMi Door Sensor - as above

1x XiaoMi Motion Sensor - As above

1x Smartthings Button (from NM NL) - Disappointed with the range so far.  Need another ST device half way between my ST Hub and the button)

1x Smartthings Door Sensor - Using as a repeater for the button as above.  Range was not long enough to reach my front door. 

1x Harmony IR Hub (Only seems to be able to trigger activity). Have a 2nd Hub (with Elite Remote) to connect.

XiaoMi Button - Can't pair yet.

Those that don't know Smartthings has some device handling built in but many devices need community created 'device handlers'. You use the Smartthings IDE to copy & paste the code or add the github repository of the creator.  I tried both methods.

I'm using the ST Classic App. The consensus seems to be that this has more functionality than the new App.  Although I use the new App to change the Device to another room as it's easier.

I'm not liking the ST 'things' short range with ZigBee. Z Wave may be a better option. May take the ST button & Door sensor back as they are not really fit for purpose with the limited range.  Saying that if I had more sensors then the range would be better as they form a mesh network.  But Z Wave seems like it may be a better option. I read Zigbee devices may interfere with the Wifi as they are the same freq.

Does anyone know if the the ST sensors from the US work on our NZ Hub? I assume they do. They seem to be Zigbee rather than Z Wave.

Picked up an ST Hub about a week ago. Connected happily enough to Hue, WeMo, Arlo and Harmony. I set my S10 as a presence device, although that had to be done either through the IDE or the classic app as the new app didn’t have the facility.

I splashed out on a multi sensor for the garage door. Unfortunately it’s at the other end of the house so the Hub keeps losing it. I thought I had fixed it by putting a powered zigbee device (Hue bulb) down that end of the house. It worked for a while, but now the sensor is lost again. Oh well, it’s only an experiment at the moment. I did get some virtual switches to work in ST though, turning on some AliExpress lightstrips via IFTTT. 

I managed to connect my old Aeotec dual switch using the Classic App - since the new app didn't have any Aeotec devices listed. The main problem I had was that I'd forgotten to remove them from my old Vera 3 mesh. So once I'd done that, they worked a treat - all except my Aeotec Smartswitch 6, which works fine when it's right next to the controller, but is hopeless once it gets more than a few metres away. Other devices that connected easily were the old Wemo and a TP Link wifi switch of some description.

The main thing I've noticed moving from the old Vera 3 (just got tired of it bricking itself with monotonous regularity) is that the built in automation/scheduling options are pretty poor. Clearly you need to be able to find and/or write apps to do the control and I don't know anything about the language their written in - yet. The Vera was pretty un-user friendly, but was still less of a learning curve. However I did manage to automate some routines using a bunch of virtual switches and other triggers to get the TP Link switch to charge my e-bike for for a set time after a delay.

The thing I haven't been able to work out is how to get the ST Hub to recognise when I flip the wall switch connected to one of the Aeotec switches. Presumably I'm going to need a proper handler to recognise and deal with this trigger.
