Micron are pretty much redundant nowadays, do you want it to record what rooms or just let you know when someone walks in front of it? Zone expanders can get you more zone outputs

Just when someone walks in front of it in a particular room. Say someone breaks into a back room in the basement, whether they're heading for the stairs or not, or if someone in the house is a neighbour feeding the cat or a burglar going through multiple rooms, that sort of thing. In other words not just "presence in the house" but "movement in this direction" beyond what the usual "someone in Zone 1" / "someone in Zone 2" gets you.

Ok, are you wanting it when not armed because you'll know which they break into when it's armed? Or Is it just indicator there's movement downstairs?

Hmm, good point... hadn't really considered it that far, mostly because I don't know what's available. Maybe "movement when not armed" would be useful, since when it's armed you really only care about "alarm goes off" vs "alarm doesn't go off". The reason for asking is that I'd heard some alarms will do movement tracking and since we're getting a new one it seemed like a useful feature to have.

Say your home you can have a strobe light upstairs that turns on when someone downstairs walks around, it's a zone follower, which you can have a few zones that controls it and can have the strobe for 1 sec,10 secs etc, with the AAP alarms the app has a zone follower built in but downside is you need to be looking at the zones to know which one but its useful when testing your system etc
