Haven't bought one (and am unlikely to) but one I have seen and really like the look of is the new iPad Pro Magic Keyboard.

We paid around $140 including delivery to NZ, but this would have to be our most popular machine at home.

Especially with the lockdown, we fire this up alongside the coffee machine(s) so that we drink plenty of chilled water with our coffees 8-).

Well it sure beats our existing method:

All that cat hair in the ice, sigh.

According to the Kogan page it consumes 105W, I assume that's when it's actually making the ice, do you know what the standby power use is?

I purchased a electric demolition hammer,

So over the month since L4 was announced I have been “chipping away” (pun intended) at some old concrete that needed to be removed, including old post and pile footings, a path and some driveway edging. Quite satisfying, but also quite hard on my ageing joints, particularly my wrists.

Now I just have a massive pile of broken concrete to dispose of at some stage.

A Garmin 66i GPS with subscription for live tracking and texting anywhere on the planet with a clear view of the sky. I forgot to put the plan on hold for the lock down, but going to make up for it over the coming months hopefully with some tramping and mountain biking.

Ive been using mine a lot more, perfect for when you don't need to make more than a couple of coffees at a time. I use espresso blend and the 'upside down' method, say 30 seconds of cafetiere type brewing then push down the plunger for the espresso action.
Zap some milk in the microwave at same time, if feeling fancy then use it in the milkshake maker for a milk frontier. Quite convoluted but fine for a couple of nice coffees a day.

Hmm, not sure on standby power sorry! It can't be too bad (certainly haven't noticed any real difference on the power bill!).

We like it more than the plunger makes, hard to explain but it makes a nicer brew and only takes about a minute to do it. A guy at work also swears by his as well, between us we made a few cups for others around the office and most people seemed to like what it made, it's by no means as good as a proper machine but for the simplicity of it the coffee comes out good. It's also really easy to clean up, take the call off, pop the puck put and rinse and it's ready to go again.

You can use either grind, I find for a single cup espresso grind is ok but if you are making 2 at once it's hard to push through that much finely ground coffee, so for more than 1 cup coarser plunger grind makes it much easier to make. We make long coffees with a dash of milk so we end up making 2 espresso sized shots in to the old plunger jug then top up with water and decant in to the cups. The science of coffee will dictate the flavour you get from the grind though, I've been watching a lot of videos from James Hoffman on YouTube about it recently but haven't quite taken the plunge on grinding my own coffee from beans yet.

It also makes a good iced coffee, a short shot over ice then whisked milk to top it up, we find the Nespresso doesn't work well for iced coffee without buying certain capsules so this was a nice find.

I got a full boar one that is similar, but its so noisy that I have probably given it about 10 mins of run time in lockdown. Its dead quiet here and I dont want to be that person. Will resume demolishing the remnant of the shed foundation when its back to normal so people arent all at home probably swearing at me about noise.

Kobo - like a kindle but works with Library books (overdrive) really seamlessly
