contrast this with tests on a couple of ultrafire batteries:

Rule of thumb, if the name ends in -fire, it's fake junk.

The batteries themselves can be ok, it's just the capacity has no relationship to what is written on the side.

I've got a few -fire batteries that came with some devices and they work ok and have done for years.

Sure, I've got TrustFires (I think) that came with something and they work OK, just nothing like the advertised capacity.

Given everything else about them I also don't know how good the protection circuitry is in them, thankfully I've never had to test that.

My rule of thumb is that if it ends in -fire there's a much much higher chance it'll cause one.
