Actually having read your post with the second diagram where you say how you get it to work with a NO contact I think my previous instructions apply also to a NO configuration.

There's missing information, the instructions that go with 3.8 appear to describe how to set up for a NO config but there dosen't seem to be any info for NC config.  Is there another diagram after 3.8.

Please, please, please, can you give a model number or access to the full installation manual.  It's pretty hard to help with only a little amount of information.

I found a manual on line which has the same pictures you posted.  It looks to me that there is some information that has been lost in translation.  Which isn't surprising in my experience.

It talks about using NO and NC inputs but then only has one explanation which is how to use a NC input when in fact it might appear that this explanation is really for a NO input.

I'll have another look at it all later and read it all thru again carefully and see if I can distill some sense out of the instructions.  There should be no need for an external relay.

Perhaps you could consider making contact with the supplier/manufacturer for their input.

Just out interest now have it working fine – just a matter of trying a few options! So now have 1 NO and 1 NC alarm working. Thanks for your input.

As a matter of interest what connections did you use to get the two option working?
