Great, will await its wider release. I wonder how they're going with their Pro devices.

personally don't think it's worth the hassle finding a rotary knob.

With a 230V momentary push button wired as the switch, you can just do long press to dim up/down. And then it's all compliant for NZ installs too.

This may have already been answered, but I couldn’t find it. Can you use a push button dimmer with Shelly switch (or dimmer) so that both the traditional dimmer and Shelly dimmer work independently?

Thanks

A

I am using Clipsal Bell press momentary switches like this:

Vivid White | Clipsal Iconic Switch Mechanism Bell Press Return LED 250V, 10A

These work with the Dimmer 2 out of the box. Press once to toggle the light, hold down to dim from full bright, if dimmed hold down to brighten.

This is the same functionality for all momentary switches. I don't think anyone has traditional dimmer dials working as the Dimmer only takes a switch input.

Cheers, Matt.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Does that operate the same as the rocker "push button" switches?

What switch cover do you use on it? Same as the blue modules that are actually true pushbuttons?

Edit: nvm found it is just another rocker.

Thanks Matt,

We have PDL iconic (which I think is another Schneider brand name for clipsal), currently with these dimmers

I assume we can switch them out for your simple switch and a Shelly for exactly the same experience for the person pressing the button, but with the added advantage of it being smart.

Does anyone know if you can make an outlet smart with a Shelly relay?

Cheers

Andy

Yes the two-wire momentary like this should work.

Vivid White | Clipsal Iconic ControlLink Remote Switch Mechanism Momentary PushButton
Is there a push button momentary switch in the Iconic range (pdl.co.nz)

Although they say there’s no momentary in the iconic range, I have found this one

PDL Bell push

Who I think is the equivalent of the one Matt posted in the clipsal range. Technically it’s a rocker but I assume it would work the same as Matts clipsal one does.

Thanks everyone

Andy

Most GPOs with switches are tightly integrated with the socket, I'd say it's not possible (particularly without voiding the certification!). It would be possible if you had a separate switch and socket, but that's only really good for certain circumstances.

Thanks. That would probably work for what I need. Essentially it’s for our coffee machine, the socket for which is going to be at the back of a cupboard so I want a remote way of switching it on. I could either have a remote switch or put a Shelly behind a GPO that’s left switched on and use the Shelly to switch it off & on. Don’t want to use anything that’s no certified.

Not sure that passes the WAF test but good to know they exist. We currently have a different coffee machine on a hue plug which works a treat but I need 15A for the new one, hence the need for a Shelly as I can get one rated to 16A.

Not sure there’s many sockets on the market that are smart and not from AliExpress!
