reven: not sure what to say, ive got 2 and they work fine in 3 different pis.

I'll try it with more focus tomorrow. I keep trying 5v / 1a power supplies. I also was trying the wheezy debian firmware....not xbmc.

I have burned an xbmc sd card now, but haven't tried it yet. Tomorrow. :-)

gave it about 2 hours this morning. No luck. Ity just won't read the sdcards. I've tried about 6. I've tried two different (physical) sdcard writers. I;ve tried running the sdcard writing software as Administrator.

Everything appears to be OK....but all I get every time is the red LED and a flash or two of the green ACT LED.

Yet this same board worked on a colleagues set up at work.

The only variable I can see is my sdcard writers...and maybe the HDMI 1.4 "Concord" cable I'm using. My colleague is using a much cheaper, generic HDMI cable.

I've tried 6 different power supplies. They are rated 5V / 1A.

I've tried several different USB cables each with the different power supplies.

It's just not working for me so far.

Just to follow up from your comment on my blog post Steve, I used two different laptops for writing my SD card. When neither worked I swapped cards using my HP laptop to write the new one.

Are you seeing anything on the screen at all? The HDMI cable can probably safely be eliminated if you're seeing video on screen but I'm guessing you're not seeing anything at all?

I have the 256 meg version at home. I use is as a xmbc to run movies/tv shows one thing I did notice was it would lag sometimes ( which I am fine with) but was wondering if I got a 512meg version I would notice any difference? Currently use on hdmi on 42 inch tv off a on power 5v supply

coming from developers at raspbmc, you wont notice any difference with the 512MB version.

im not going to upgrade any of the 3 i have in my house

ill wait for a faster device/version before upgrading. i hope they make a model c with a faster cpu, that would be awesome.

I got mine overnight (SYD to MEL) from Element14. Had a play last night.

Picked up a Lexar 8GB Class 4 SD card for AU$10 - works great.

Loaded up Raspbmc via their installed in about 2 minutes, plugged in and away laughing.

I only hope they come up with Plex for the Pi soon. I have a Plex server and PleXBMC isn't a very clean solution.

I ordered my 512MB board yesterday since I am currently running a 256MB board for XBMC - As usual had great service from Element14 and it arrived today, they also gave me a quick follow-up call confirming I had recieved it and was happy with it.

Now gotta get a couple of Gertboards for my 256MB Pi's :)

I made the mistake of ordering my Pi from Radio Spares way back in June. I recieved it this week. And it was only the 256Mb version. They made the announcement of the 512Mb version the day after mine was dispatched.

The customer service from RS was abyssmal. The only communications from them were vague about when the Pi would ship. I had to contact them to get any info and it took several days for them to respond. I never got the notification when the device actually shipped.

I intend to get a second one shortly but it won't be from RS, that is for bloody sure!

I'd go on a Vegan diet but the delivery time from Vega is too long.

I purchased a 512MB RaspberryP1 Model B. a few weeks ago for configuring as an ZBMC media player but unfortunately did appreciate how critical it was to get the right PSU and purchased a 1200 ma version locally instead. All went well with setting up the card and also downloading the root file system etc but when it came to connecting the USB keyboard to the Pi, I discovered the PSU even though supposedly of a higher spec, it could not take the additional load. Finally, ordered and received the correct PSU some days later and all was well.

Unfortunately, in spite of configuring the Pi so that it can see the Video and Music folders on my NAS, it does not see the files. I have XBMC/NAS combination working perfectly on my PC and the NAS is also fine with everything else --- PS3, WD, Netbook and ASUS Transformer --- so could anyone advise what could be the problem? I am really keen to get the Pi working so that I can do the similar set-up for other members of my family and would appreciate your help.

I got a cheapass 1 amp phone charger from JB Hifi and I am having no problems at all with the Pi. I have a wireless network dongle on the Pi and a wireless keyboard dongle and an IR reciever for a cheapass MCE remote hanging off an unpowered hub. Annoyingly the MCE doesn't work on the Pi yet worked perfectly on an old HP 8510p laptop running XBMC on Windows or XBMCbuntu. However, the Vierralink on my Panasonic TV works like a dream on the Pi, whereas it did not on the old laptop. Go figure.

I am currently accessing my movie and TV show collection via an SMB share but am looking at a NAS box. What NAS solution are you currently using, Renwick?

I'd go on a Vegan diet but the delivery time from Vega is too long.

Hi, good to hear from you. I have been using a very old Acer Aspire Smartshare H340 for a couple of year. It is a bit long in the tooth but it does the business. It is based on the original WHS V1,0 which MS have long since dropped. I Video and Music collections loaded onto it for dist'n round the house on most things.

Just today, I have managed to finally get the RPi working with Video access and also Remoting with my Android Transformer TF101 -- so for me, quite a breakthrough, especially since I am totally new to RPi. The next job is to to get access to MUSIC files.

I am considering having a look at OpenELEC's version of XBMC with RPi. How are you doing?

Just placed an order for two from Element14 just a minute ago.
Planning to use one as a NAS server and the other one as media player connecting to the NAS server.

Meanwhile if anyone out there is using XBMC/Rpi Eden and has Music working OK, particularly using UPnP, I would appreciate your comments.
