That's pretty cool. I've got the Paradox IP module which is pretty basic. This would be a great upgrade.

Have either of you have looked at the python bridges available? Certainly working for current states...I've got to work on arming/disarming as it stops after a day or so, but it does work

I'm just exploring options at the moment. Something that I want to do this summer. but at ~170NZD delivered this is not the cheapest option, and without remote arm/disarm keeps me thinking if I want it.

But it should integrate nicely with my home assistant set-up, at least I would be able to set-up triggers when motion is detected.

Raising this thread from the dead.. curious to hear how everyone has implemented and/or set up their Konnected Alarms?

I presume you are all using Konnected with Home Assistant as SmartThings is not technically legal to use in NZ.

I have Konnected plugged in to a 2017 Bosch alarm panel, set up with Hass.io running Custom Alarm on a RP3B+. Using the new native HomeKit support of Hass, I am able to pass through all of the Konnected motion sensors from the alarm. This has allowed me to build some nice HomeKit-powered automations such as turning on Koogeek LED Strips in hallways, stairways and under the bed when movement is detected "after dark". HomeKit automations allow you to automatically turn things off after a certain period of time, so I have most of these automations set up to expire after a few minutes.

Outside of the basic stuff like that, I have also managed to get Hass and the Customer Alarm Panel to deliver rich push notifications to my Apple Watch / iPhone when my tracked devices have all left the home for more than 3 minutes. The push notification gives me a button to "Instant Arm" (bypassing the 60 second delay), or "Delayed Alarm", (following the standard 60 second delay). Naturally it won't notify my device or my partner's device if either of us is home (it checks first).

When it comes to disarming I've set up an auto disarm based on presence. As soon as either my phone or my partner's phone is within 50m of the house it automatically disarms the alarm - no keypad required. This specific automation is the best.

Lastly, my partner somehow came into an array of Google Home Minis, so we have them dotted around the house as a broadcast system (microphones disabled for now). There's no more "Beep beep" when the alarm triggers or is armed. Now the system uses Home Assistant's Google Text To Speech to announce that the alarm is arming and that we have 60 seconds to close all doors and windows and clear out of the house. Walking in when it is armed announces the alarm is active and that the siren(s) will activate in 30 seconds.

Next I'm planning to integrate the Koogeek light strips to strobe RED during that 30 second count down..

So, what's everyone else got setup?

@premiumtouring thanks for the update. I don't have a Konnected board but have connected my alarm to Hass.io via MQTT, so should be able to do similar things.

I hadn't heard of "Custom Alarm" - is this what you are talking about? https://github.com/gazoscalvertos/Hass-Custom-Alarm Currently I am just using the MQTT Alarm in Hass.io (https://www.home-assistant.io/components/alarm_control_panel.mqtt/) so interested to learn the benefits of the other system.

It sounds like you have found the Hass <> Homekit integration reliable?

My setup is still in the same half installed state as it was last year. Hearing what others have done has given me a bit of a prod to finish it off.

I see the Hass Custom Alarm panel has had an update or two, so will have to apply the changes to that as well.

This is good news. What was holding some people back from deploying the original konnected units was the lack of support for EOL resistors (used to properly supervise detector wiring e.g. identify a short, rather than permanently not triggering).
