It was the 2 big square plugs that you have to remember to swap tx and rx yourself. the cheap fiber place on aliexpress I used had those available as well. I will have to look back on my trademe email which I dont have here with me, but im pretty sure it was the one in Penrose that sold lots of other server and rack stuff.

The nice thing about the LCs is that you can get them as paired connectors/cables while for SC you typically get a single, so you need to deal with two cables running around. OK, it's a minor thing, but LC is a bit more convenient.

That's got an LC at one end. As I said, if you've got LC's, which that cable has, it's easy, with SC's only it's harder.

Dual anything-with-LC is easily available, dual-SC single-mode seemed far less so, but I've redone the search terms and found more suppliers than I found initially. So yeah, shouldn't be a problem, I'll get the cheapie Chinese ones since I can run them off a UBEC and dual-SC single-mode cable locally.
