Anyone know if the Borders.com ebooks store will be open to NZ?

Need a decent range...makes me wish we could get Kindles :D

Maybe the $295 figure is for the early adapters and to measure the market....
It'd be easy then to push it down to $249 for promotions or keep it at $295 and add value like a number of vouchers for on-line books.......

I think you mean "adopters", and yes I think you're right.  The Kobo eReader was announced on Thursday and I went into my local Whitcoulls on Friday afternoon and was told they were sold out everywhere.  So I've put one on order, due to arrive the week of the 7th of June.

I'm sure that they'll drop to $250 and maybe down to $199 for Christmas.  This will bring them more into line with the Australian and American prices.

I wonder if this means no new Borders Stores in NZ?

Wondered why the Queens Street store is now a bit gimped...there is a Bennetts section that has taken over part of non-fiction and on the whole their range seems reduced.

Whitcoulls have always had terrible book selections
