CAA was very quick to send me information - links to circular 101.
There you go. Wellington doesn't even know what we're talking about it seems.

Hen combined with the statement from Auckland stating that they had no inkling that this was going to be the policy announced, it appears that there has been absolutely no official communication between CAA and the councils/other public land owners--
greenbone: ive had my phantom with fpv for a while now. been jokingly-but-not-really-jokingly called a perv a few times
anyway, cameras are the last thing people whould be worried about
Our current bylaws and policies do not prohibit the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) but that is on the basis that they do not interfere /restrict other users or cause health and safety issues just like any other recreational activity. In addition much of Wellington is controlled airspace (4km radius from the airport).
As a general guide, you can fly your RPA
- In uncontrolled airspace below 400 feet above ground level
- During daylight hours
- Within visual line of sight
- Clear of all manned aircraft, persons &
- Outside of airspace restricted areas
- Not within 4km of any aerodrome
- If you know the CAA regulations
We also ask users to register their flights on airshare.co.nz
The link to the bylaws are here:

That has some serious applications. Imagine if you could make it silent running...

Yes, it would be great for shooting possums, add a decent image recognition system and it send it out alone to shoot rabbits on the golf course Edit: At night of course...I'm not insane

I have found (in the distant past) that a pistol unless high caliber would not be enough to deal with possums. I emptied a whole Mag from my Sterling into one before it dropped. I was also treed by a Captain Cooker after putting a round
into it and it just kept coming without even slowing, the evil sod. Oh the memories of youth

mdooher:
"Sterling" as in "9mm sterling submachine gun"?
