Thanks for posting the links.
I have tried a number of different sensors including ST, Xiaomi and Z wave. I have found the z wave to be the most reliable and have the best range (by a long way). They are more expensive though. Keep in mind you need to buy Z wave devices from NZ or AU as other countrys use different frequencies.

I just got one on the Spark online store.  Added to cart yesterday, on it's way today.  Only really got it to have a play, might post here if/when I'm done with it if anyone is interested in grabbing it 2nd hand.

Cool. It does work pretty well as a Hub.
Another Hub that looks interesting is the Hubitat. Is supposed to be not so reliant on the cloud. I think it's by the same people who developed ST, and sold it to Samsung

Hubitat are having Covid related supply issues. The SmartThings hub is working well enough for now, though. Pleased I picked one up a couple of months back.
