razor2000nz: What device are you using to update your address? I’ve tried on the web portal page, but It says I have to select a country but NZ isn’t on the drop down list.
The following is a summary of the fully instructions provide elsewhere on GeekZone...
Using FireFox web browser... go to alexa.amazon.com
go into Settings and initially setup the location for anywhere in the UK... just provide United Kingdom & a valid postcode.
call the developer tool network tab by hitting Cntl+Shift+E
Add 'device-preferences' in the filter, disable the cache and press enter.
you should see GET and PUT status alerts in the developer window...
select the PUT and right-click to choose the 'Edit and Resend' option...
Now change the instances of of GB & the post-code you entered to NZ and a valid kiwi code...
press enter and hope you get a green 200 status message.
Good Luck!!!!
Can confirm I was able to update my postcode to WLG based ones on both my Dot and original Echo.
Ditto worked for me on an original Echo.
Cheers - N

Anyone who hasn't updated their Alexa device address and postcode should do this soonish.
Amazon tends to open this opportunity unintentionally then close it down when they realise someone left the door open...
Very cool. Have just moved house so was great to have Alexa updated. Hopefully though its not far away from actually supporting New Zealand. I see the Fire TV stick is now available for NZ.

I keep getting the 'Can't verify the address' issue and it defaults back to my US address.

Any idea how to do this in Chrome?
I understand that you need to remove any Chrome extensions that might be causing a problem.... I still couldn't get it to work, so I gave up and installed FireFox

Okay, I'm racking my brains out here. I've been trying to update my Amazon details to my address here in Wellington and having no luck. I've tried using Request Maker in Chrome and Curl and was just getting 401 Unauthorised messages so I guess I wasn't correctly logged into the API or something.
Anyway I gave your Firefox method a try and I'm still a bit unstuck. When I follow your instructions I get as far as entering a UK address and I see the status returned when I hit Save as a 400 Bad Request and it flashes "Unable to send your request" at the top. Grr, stupid Amazon! Any idea why?
The Apple one is due next month and will work here without all this. Just need a huge bank account to afford it. I believe it will be very special.
PhillyG: @boxdog I had similar issue. Ended up looking up a random London address which Amazon accepted. Was then able to use edit and resend with my NZ address
Hey, that worked! Many thanks. Seems Amazon just didn't like my girlfriend's old work address there. <shrug>
Has anyone else had trouble installing the Alexa app? I have the Alexa app installed because Google thinks I'm in the US BUT for some reason my girlfriends phone won't install it. Google thinks she's in the UK (she used to live there) and adamently refuses to let her move address to NZ - this is a known problem and apparently the only fix is to open a new Gmail account (aka start a whole new digital life..great). Is there a way to download the APK from somewhere?
Thanks again! Now checking out all these skills. We had an Echo Tap for about 1 1/2 years in Amsterdam and have hardly used it because of the lack of app on my girlfriend's phone and this issue with the address..
