Yes, seems to be about 1/2 a watt per lamp according to my cheap junk plug in meter. It has to run the radio to get the on command.

One of my 2 dual white bulbs in my bedroom has started flickering intermittently. Haven't had time to take it down and see if I can repair it yet. Depending which order it's from, it is 2 or 3 years old.

I was thinking of adding a standing lamp for winter anyway so bit the bullet and bought 2 of the $$$$$ new RGB+CW/WW bulbs, plus new bridge & remote. They appear to have some really cool features I'd been wanting for ages like ability to mix white with colour. I'd had this idea of changing the hue of the entrance hall when different flatmates & visitors arrive as a sort of smart greeting from the house (based on their mobile phones appearing on the wifi) but last year I replaced all the downlights in my house to sealed LED types so not sure I'll ever do this.

Actually I misread the bit that says that V5 bridge can't be upgraded to V6 as can. Anybody want a V5 bridge going cheap?

The new RGB/WW/CW bulbs are really cool, mixing white & colour does result in very nice hues.

As for the old dual white bulb, I popped the top off today and found a cracked solder joint, here's a shot of it under the microscope before I touched it up (yes, the messy flux is original):

I have got part way thru putting the RF chip straight onto a raspberry pi, so once I get some time I will see how I go with that. Python being a prick and I CFB dealing with it at the moment.

There is a RF chip and antenna network etc inside the RGB dimming boxes. That would be the cheapest way of getting one as I couldnt find a cheap dev board for the chips used in the limitless gateway.

Excellent service from Hamish at LimitlessLED - I ordered a starter kit plus 3 extra bulbs last Sunday, they arrived Tuesday morning - 1 bulb was faulty and I received the free replacement today. My lounge doubles as a photo gallery, and the dimmable, variable colour temperature bulbs and remote have transformed this space. Thanks Hamish!

I've got a bulb that I can't seem to control with the remote. So, it's stuck on red and I can't sync to it.

Anything I can do apart from keep pushing buttons, and change batteries?

Red is the default colour when you first reset the firmware inside the bulb. So from that, its in its default state ready to go. The best thing to ensure that the mcu stops running, is remove the bulb from the socket, give it 30 seconds to drain any capacitors, then plug it back in, and within 2 seconds press the on button on the remote, and then do the same again in the iphone app, assuming you already have the wifi bridge set up.
