my problem with openelec is you cant install anything else on the OS, the pi is brilliant because its can always be on and can do many things.

i have

kodi outputing to hdmi
squeezelite installed output via 3.5mm
motion sensor
temperature sensor

going to play around with moonlight on one probably this weekend.

currently im just using raspbian with kodi installed on it, but will try osmc again. I had issues with the audio for squeezelite with osmc in the feb 2016 build of osmc, but theres a new one now which might have fixed it.

I can't do that as I have kids who are addicted to video games. they would hide the phone and wake themselves up in the middle of the night for a long long session.

I would also get sick of having yet another thing to charge up every day and/or lose down the back of the couch.

The idea of using the xbox original remote is so I can also use the remote on the xbox , for now, that might die off. The missus is trained to use it so I would fewer 'support' issues.

Most of the posters in this thread are just like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism. Fred99 8/4/21

OK OK. Got my xbox remote and dvd dongle working on the pi now, still on openelec. Looks like most of the internet help posts are obsolete due to an architecture change in Openelec a version or 2 ago.

Generally works well but i have a lot of buffering on the bbc iplayer add on, although more on some files than others.

Must get another one and do something else with it. Hmmmm what next?
