I have mine working with a Panasonic heat pump. Had it connected to Home Assistant and MQTT too.

My RM mini 3 arrived last week. I've got it working with Openhab using BlackBeanControl, which means it also works with Alexa. IP blocked on the firewall so its no longer phoning home.

Its good for such a cheap device.

I received the Broadlink Universal WIFI / IR Remote Controller (RM 3 Mini) this week and set it up with timers for Fujitsu Nocria.

It didn't work 100% first time I tried the remote, but I did get it working. it seem good for around $20.

I'd like to programmatically control my Fujitsu ducted heat pump (installed last year). It's really not very good at keeping low consistent temperatures overnight, and I think I could do a much better job with arduino temp sensors, etc.

The problem is that it doesn't have the IR unit installed, so I have a choice between that and the new WiFi control unit.

Obviously the WiFi unit has major advantages, and would be my first choice, but I really need it to have an API that I can access.

Does anyone know if you can easily hijack the Fujitsu WiFi controller?

@russelo Can you elaborate? Are you saying you have an RM Mini 3 and can control it programmatically (which language?) with home assistant and mqtt?

After reading this thread a couple of weeks back I ordered a Broadlink RM Mini 3, US$13 including shipping. Then found out about the Homebridge project which enables Apple HomeKit support for a whole host of devices including the Broadlink (google it). Long story short, an afternoon of tinkering and I now have my Panasonic heat pumps being controlled via Siri and the Apple Home app, as well as a WeMo switch which controls some outdoor lighting. Works extremely well, best US$13 I've ever spent.

Has anyone got a recommendation for a good place to pick up a Broadlink RM Mini 3? The prospect of controlling my Panasonic heat pump through Homebridge/Siri is too enticing at this point...

Just received my ANAVI Infrared pHAT. Not sure it'll be the simplest option for automating my heatpump but it should be fun. Planning to integrate it with some form of web interface for LIRC.

I got some headphone socket IR emmitters that are made for android phones. Will see if they work in the pi's audio out socket at some time.

Any chance you could share your config.json content for the Broadlink RM Mini 3 / Panasonic heat pump combo? I've installed Homebridge and the homebridge-broadlink-rm plugin on my RPi 3, and I can see the homebridge accessory in the iOS Home app, but I'm struggling with what to do next to get the Broadlink/heat pump added to the setup...

Received my RM Mini 3 last week, ordered from Banggood. Despite saying they sell the English version they sent me the Chinese one so the box and manual were in Chinese.. fumbled my way through it anyway. Had to create a new SSID because I have special characters in the password which the RM Mini 3 can't support

Pretty underwhelmed with the controls for the Panasonic heatpump, it'd be nice to control more than just heat/auto/cool/fan speed/temp like louver position and power/quiet mode

Glad it was only $20
