Yep, back in October when it was released.  I don't expect there'd be many used ones up for grabs.  (Not yet anyway, and when I look at some of the prices that most people want for used glass on TM I'd rather spend a bit extra and get the peace of mind of buying new.)

This is my first foray into ILC from point and shoot. So I'm trying to be disciplined about my spending. So will learn with kit lense as much as I can. That said the extra reach would be nice as I like to take photo and video of my friends playing golf. But we'll see how I go with the 18-135mm first.

Hardly a newly released device, but the gadget I've had the most fun dealing with over the last little while was setting up a Raspberry Pi up as a wireless print server, using CUPS, for my aging, but very reliable Brother HL-2140 (USB only) laser printer. I had got sick of using it shared from another PC and it simply not working, or even worse trying to share it from my router and not even being able to find it at crucial moments.

Hasn't missed a beat since I've set up the Pi.

1eStar: Helped the member of the household when they brought this home after they bought it in a timely manner prior to lockdown. I've also helped run the odometer up in the last few weeks too...

Code never works in my posts. The youtube link should be this:

Kobo - like a kindle but works with Library books (overdrive) really seamlessly

We are now running 3 different models (kids on lockdown) and this new one seems like the best, and good value.

We got it from here https://www.booktopia.com.au/kobo-libra-h20-white-kobo/book/681495007806.html

Nice cases available on aliexpress

Would it suit a 10 year old? Is it useful for anything else other than reading books? Thanks

It is only for books (can be good because that way you know they aren't on netflix). I have a 10 year old using one - robust so far, as long as they are fairly careful.

Both of my kids (13/15) have Kindles and if I was starting again, I'd get them Kobo ereaders.

The simple ability to easily borrow from the public library system would make them worth their weight in gold.

Kindles become a somewhat costly exercise as you're always buying new books (which admittedly are much cheaper than paper).

I'd forgotten I recently bought a new Kobo - the Kobo Aura H2O after my old Kobo died (possibly due to salt water on the screen hence choosing the H2O model this time - the hazards of auto-pilot).  For anyone considering an e-book reader, this is a great option.  Advantages over the older one are better screen, better ergonomics with page-turning buttons, integration with NZ libraries and the Pocket app, which lets you tag articles that you're reading online on a PC etc and which are then automatically loaded onto your Kobo for later reading.

Am buying for my grandchild in Sydney, so I assume she can hook up to her local library. Any thoughts on a cover from Alieexpress? I have looked at a few different styles. Which do you think would be most comfortable for a child to manage.
