thesoundofwhite: Just placed my ordered with Amazon for the Kindle Touch and am using ComGateway for shipping. For those that have used that service did you fill in invoice details straight away on ComGateway? Also did you put the invoice value in US$ or NZ$?

Lastly, how long did your order take to arrive approximately using standard/non-express shipping?

What invoice details? The invoice comes from Amazon, you can it as a PDF when it arrives at comGateway. All other details you can fill in (such as your real address) at any time

I put the invcoice value at the suggested US$100. Wont matter to customs at value of 1 kindle they are interested in bigger numbers... eg if you bought 5!

First one I bought was 1 week-ish using standard, a couple of days less express with the second one from memory

Just ordered a special offers version of the Kindle Touch, using the Geekzone order page of course :P
Using comGateway to forward it. Hopefully the process to get it to NZ is smooth once the item arrives at their warehouse.

Was tossing between this and the standard Kindle 4 but opted for the touch instead due to it having a few more features. Hopefully I like it.

You shouldn't have any issues, i've shipped 5 kindles through CGW now, if you choose standard shipping it comes via Fedex (Well it did for me) takes around a week or so, express shipping ships via DHL and seems to arrive within 4-5 days.

Usually it comes into your account the evening of the day it arrives at your USA address and is sent out within around 48 hours max if you pay straight away (Usually the next day for me).

I have a premium account now because of frequent usage so I get a 15% discount on shipping rates, express shipping for me on a kindle box is usually around $50 NZD, standard is $40 or so NZD, but it will be a little more for you.

Hope that helps you with what to expect.

Just ordered a Kindle for my mother-in-law... And Amazon says it'll be delivered on Wednesday - counting the long weekend holiday.

Well this sucks. Amazon ship the Touch version overseas as of today...the non special offers version as well. Wow what bad luck :(

Can't cancel my Amazon order as it is in transit to the local address.

I just visited Amazon and both Kindle Touch 3G and WiFi only are still listed as "US Only".

My comGateway shipment came today. Pretty impressed by the service and only took 6 days to arrive via the standard method. Turned out to cost me $164.50 for the Touch landed which isn't too bad.

I think I'm going to be ordering another one to give to a friend for a birthday present. Probably via Amazon directly though.

Pretty cool toy :)

Thats a lot cheaper than dse are selling it for. They are preordinging for $250. That is $30 more than the RRP on the sony touch ereader. So quite a big saving by buying direct from amazon.

Sorry, I should have added that it was the the special offers version. Ordered it the evening before Amazon started shipping the Touch (normal version) internationally.

But yeah DSE are quite expensive. You can get it direct from Amazon for just under $190 so you are saving quite a bit. In saying that, the USD against NZ is growing stronger again.
