I wouldn't like to guarantee it, but I don't think it will have any trouble with that. The wheels are spring loaded and when you pick up the robot and take the weight off the wheels they extend about 35mm. This allows it to navigate over quite significant obstacles when required.

I see the robot makes a map (visible in the app)... Is it possible to constrain the robot to certain parts of the house via the app? ie. giving it bounds instead of the magnetic strips etc?

No - you can't constrain it, unless you buy/use the magnetic strips (I haven't tried them). I think the latest Neato is the only one that supports this kind of mapping.

Can't do that at the moment, it makes the map completely from scratch every time you start the cleaning cycle. There's really no reason why this couldn't be added as a feature later but as of now the only way to constrain is either to get the magnetic strips (make sure you get the Xiaomi ones as people online have said using other ones haven't worked) or to put a physical barrier in eg close the door

Wow. That's strange. I'd think since it knows the layout and it knows where it is, that would be a very simple thing to do.. Oh well...

I saw some videos complaining that the app was 100% Chinese (and needed a second phone to do live translates!) ... Is that still the case?

App and voice you can now get in English as well so this is no longer a problem

Fully english app (not that I use it anymore as I have the robot on my IoT VLAN with no internet access). And before putting it on my IoT VLAN I downloaded the English voice pack (and upgrade the firmware) so now it speaks English as well.

I hope they come with the English conversion already done.

There is no ‘conversion’ required, it’s just settings inside the app to change the language.

The packaging and manual is in Chinese but you don’t need either of these, and there is also an English translation of the user manual available online.

It sounds like that DSE version already comes with a NZ power cable, which is one less thing you need to buy.
