Hi There

I am looking for someone to do a logic board repair job of a 15" mid 2010 macbook pro 6,2.

This computer has a known fault on the graphics card. I have been researching this fault, and I believe it is due to a faulty capacitor.

This machine has a C9560 tantalum capacitor that is powering the framebuffer power supply for the GPU and the VRAM. This capacitor is not fit for the purpose, and needs to be replaced with a non-tantalum one.

A non-tantalum capacitor won't physically fit, so the board's ground pad will need to be scraped away to make room.

You can see full details of this procedure performed by Louis Rossmann here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzcgT_fiVTA

I was wondering if anyone on these forums was able and willing to do this job for me?

Thanks in advance

Will

If you have no other luck, consider Philips Electronics in Penrose, Auckland.  I've had good component-level repairs done by them in the past (4 years ago). http://www.phillipselectronics.co.nz/
