I've worked in software development for 15+ years and the last 5 or so years have been doing scrum. I love it and would never go back to waterfall. If done right, and many many companies don't do it right, it's awesome.

The true core of agile is to do something small, inspect the result and adapt (and hopefully improve) accordingly.

Isn't Agile meant for project management? So if your job involves doing projects then Agile will work, but if your job has nothing to do with projects then what's the point? I would have thought there is little benefit to using Agile for call centre staff, secretaries, sales people, etc. Or have I got this wrong?

Things like call center are actually unaffected.

For the most part (there are exceptions after all) this is all the product and development teams that are moving agile.

I've had the pleasure of working alongside the frontrunner tribes for the last few months. Its been impressive to watch the speed to market.
