Hi There!

I have a customer who has just called. He has Outlook on his PC and a new Iphone 4s with VF. He wants to be able to sync his calendar, email and contacts from his phone and pc together without needing an exchange server, so I presume this would be iCloud ?

Is it a case of PC > iCloud < iPhone ?

How long does it take for this to setup roughly?

It's easy on vista or 7 but on XP iCloud is not officially supported and you need to hack it to get it to work.

If you go into iClould in the control panel and setup what you want to sync it will just happen doesn't take long at all.

Interesting that he uses outlook without an exchange server. This says to me that he is using a pop3 or imap connection to his email server.

Depending on the email server (eg. gmail), he may be able to set up a direction to it on the phone itself, without syncing through outlook.

Can't iOS sync mail, contacts, calendars via IMAP account?
It's there in the options when you create a new IMAP account, would sync directly with the server, not with client outlook.
