Pad mini 9.3.5 update options?

I have my son's iPad mini he hasn't used it for a long time, and suggested installing press reader app so as he could look at magazines etc.  But couldn't install it as it needed ios 10 or above so no go!

So what are the options left apart from buying a newer model is it worth trying to jailbreak, to try and get updates or is that not worth the bother.

Or just try a restore and just use for basic stuff ie = trade me, nzherald, bbcnews etc.

Not a huge amount ... I have one as well, and any useful apps like Netflix or Plex won't install as they need a higher OS version .. shame as it's nice hardware.

We have one as well and mainly just use it as a fancy eBook reader, iBook & Kindle, play solo type games and a little Safari browsing. Otherwise it is still in perfect nick.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
