arghhh finally! BUT... it's not availble on the NZ app store

Looks really good though and relatively usable by the sound of things.

Here's hoping we get it on the NZ app store...

I use to use and RDP connection to a server at home when I had and HTC Apache the only problem I had with it was the small screen which I think will still be a problem in the iphone and itouch.

Do these phones come with keyboards built in (sorry have not done any research on these devices)

Yeah I have previously used on both the Apache and the Okta Touch and while it's not something you'd want to use on a daily basis, it has helped out many times when i've not been near a computer and have had clients yelling and screaming with server issues!

The iPhone has a soft keyboard (onscreen) which is a lot more usable than the Okta in my opinion

This app does look good thoug. Hopefuly we see it in the NZ stores soon...

RDP Lite is now available and free!! It's created by the same people who have created the VNC client so the look and feel are almost identical.

I dont have the link on me but if you do a search in the app store for RDP you'll find it.

Great spotting. I've just installed it and tested it by connecting to a clients 2003 server and it is usable. The description of the app states that it will only connect to Windows XP Pro desktops so I was comfortable it would work with a 2003 server. Haven't tested connecting to anything else yet.

The tricky bit for me was the log in screen on the remote server. The app doesn't show a cursor so you're never positive where you're about to begin typing!! And there seems to be a reasonable delay with the typing too. I noticed that flicking between text fields (username and password boxes) seemed to force the text that I had input to refresh.

I was on wifi at the time so will test over the 3G network shortly to see if there are any major speed differences etc

I seem to be missing the Ctrl and Alt keys which are present in the screenshots.

One problem I have with this and the VNC client is the inability to Ctrl-Alt-Delete which is a problem if the machine you are connecting to is not currently logged on, or you need to log out and back in under a different account.

I think with the full version of VNC the extra keyboard has a Delete key which may allow you to do this.

I've also noticed, having logged onto my laptop at work via the RDP client, when I log back onto this machine normally the num lock is turned off and my toolbar has been "flattened" (i.e. it is normally two icons high but it gets reduced to only one high - if that makes sense).
