I have a couple of friends who both use iPhones (unsure of exact model, but new in the last 18 months) on 2Degrees and no matter whether I call them or they call me, the call quality always seems to be very poor. Samsung A8 on Spark at my end. Is there a technical reason for the quality, or am I just unlucky in my choice of friends? 😀

HD calling does not work cross net so if you call end users on Spark the calls will be HD or even UHD with VoLTE

Yup time for new friends unfortunately. HD calling doesn’t work between networks so calls won’t sound as clear/good as you calling other Spark mobiles or them calling other 2degrees mobiles.

If you were on 2degrees then the calls to your friends would be HD voice

To my knowledge I've not seem the same issue where the other party is with Vodafone. I'm assuming the same applies there though?
