so 8:30am i go to swend a txt and see my phone says "no service"
this is a bit odd as i get good service at my place.

so i turn off my phone, turn it back on.

it finds the network with no problem and good strength.
then i send my txt.

next few seconds i get 2 voice mails and 3 txt from late last night.
best as i can tell my phone droped off the network for about 10 hours.

any thoughts??

mine did the same the other week. turned it off and on and it took about 20 seconds to connect to the network. was really werid.

I had exactly the same issue the other day.

Vodafone couldnt explain it, but then I came across this on the Xnet site..

"It appears Telecom are currently testing their new 3G network. Some Vodafone mobiles appears to be switching between each 3G network trying to get service. This is causing inbound calls to some 3G vodafone mobiles to go directly to voice mail.

To fix this issue for your mobile phone:

Select 'Setting' on your phone, network, un-select automatic, select manual, then Vodafone.

This will stop the phone switching to the Telecom 3G network, which is not operational at present

If you need assistance doing this please call your Vodafone. "

I've had this issue today for the first time. It happens when I use the lift at work in Auckland CBD. There is no Vodafone signal in the lift, and when I step out on our floor (28th) my iPhone does not pick-up vodafone again.

The quickest way I could find to fix it was to turn on flight mode, then turn it off again. Much quicker than a re-boot. But frustrating that it has to be done.

Yeah I had the exact same issue with my iPhone for the first time yesterday. At about midday I wondered why I'd not been disrupted once by my phone and looked at it to see it had no service (Wellington CBD - Courtenay Place). Gave it a reboot and it found Vodafone again and I had an influx of voicemail and text messages come in from as early as 8:30pm the previous night!!

I live just off Courtney Place and work on Cable St. They are obviously testing around this area.
