since the upgrade to 2.2.1

a sync of my songs and data can take up to 40 minutes, most of that time is backup , not sync.

any thoughts??

wow i was under the impression that that update was to cut down on the backup speeds, it did for me. I did have a slow sync problem at the start but i found for some reason it was because i was running limewire at the same time i have no idea why limewire affected itunes but i quit it and synced again and it worked like a dream.
could be something differnt eg disk space but i dont know tutu untill you figure it out thats my motto :D
good luck

Hi there,

to me it's not unheard of to have a slower sync time after you upgrade to a newer firmware.

Do you have quite a few applications etc. installed? as well as a lot songs?

I have upgraded to 2.2.1 (and have been upgrading since 2.0) and have only encountered one problem.

which was the slow sync.  so i restored my iPhone and now it's working fine, and has ever since.

So a couple of things i could suggest to you is to delete all your of your previous backs for your iphone and then back it up.

If that odesnt work, then all i can suggest is to restore it to factory settings. (do it through itunes its a lot faster)

Seems to be lots of stories floating about the net regarding this issue with 2.2.1.  I wouldn't worry about it too much.
