We still are running an old iPad for the kids, and the original cable has finally given up the ghost.

I bought a couple third party cables, but they barely can charge the device

(resorting to  power off overnight)

Has anyone got an original cable in the back of their draw?

I might have one. I'll have a look when I get home tonight.

PBTech have certified cables for $3, These should have no issues with charging. It might pay to pick up a couple as I imagine this will be what's left of old stock.

Edit: Apple still sell genuine cables for (an extortionate) $39

I would expect nothing less from a company that will charge you $700 for 4 caster wheels for a 4 year old computer :)
