As I've been spamming lately, my daughter is in a band which is doing well, but now she is wanting a Mac to run Garage Band on.....

Looking at the low end/2nd hand side of things, what would be suitable ? I dont know enough about macs to really look :)

So hints/tips/examples appreciated :)

My MacBook Pro (late 2013 i7) runs it just fine (not that I actually use it for anything GB related 😅), but that should give you an indication of the era of what to look for, or newer.

I had a 2012 Mac Mini that would also be fine with Garageband performance.

I have just replaced my wife’s MacBook Air M1 yesterday.

The M1 has more than enough grunt to power GarageBand without breaking a sweat

This is for sale. $1100 and it’s basically brand new. No scratches or anything wrong.

They've been releasing it since all the way back with iLife so it's very well optimised to run on any Mac at all.

It also runs really well on most recent iPads.
