Any one know any good metheds for cleaning out dust from a I phone? I have a few white specs bewteen LCD screen and glass that are getting on my nerves. I'm going to pull phone apart and clean it do you think normal tv LCD cleaner and micro fiber cloth would be fine straight on lcd screen? Anyone else had to do this? Or do u think I'm better off sending it to a service agent to get it sorted?

erm....I wouldn't try to pull your iPhone apart?? If it is still under Apple Care Warranty (1 Year from date of purchase) then call Apple and talk to them about. Even if it's not I would call them and they can tell you what to do.

It's a iPhone 3g that I got on the launch day last year. Maybe I will go see the good people at magnum mac

1 year manufacturers warranty is irrelevant if the product was sold in NZ by a NZ shop/store you have protection under the consumer guarantees act which states an item must last for a reasonable amount of time.

If you want my opinion I think an reasonable amount of time for a high end smart phone to last is 2-3 years at least.

Consumer guarantees act states it must be free of even minor defects for that period so yes you are covered. Read up on the act and stand your ground.

One other thing... are you sure it's not a dead / stuck pixel? A friend of mine had a dead pixel and it did look like a piece of dust.
