Anyone know how Apples international warranty will eventually be applied in NZ for iPads purchased overseas? the reason i ask is that if you search the net for "iPad video freezing" you will find a discussion on apples forums that runs to 23+ pages of affected owners. A warranty return is the the only fix as it appears to be a hardware issue.

This issue affects many many iPads including mine, which necessitates a reset (hold home and sleep button for 10 secs) It renders the iPad useless for watching any kind of video inc YouTube, embedded video etc.

Have you had a problem with yours?

Will the NZ distributors both official and parallel importers like Tosh honour apples overseas warranty??

Don't ask for a lighter load, rather a stronger back.

iPads ship with international warranties so you should be covered with the distributor but obviously you have to wait for the device to be released here.

You will also have to deal with the costs of getting your unit to the distributor / repairer.

Unless you bought the iPad from a parallel importer, don't expect any help from them.

That's right. At the moment the warranty is restricted to country of purchase. I am pretty sure that once they have completed a worldwide release of the iPod then you will be able to get it serviced at any Service Provider or Apple Store worldwide.

We should have a better idea at the end of next month when we see the release of the iPad here.

Not quite.

The iPad warranty is international, but can only be serviced in countries that are currently selling the iPad.

So if you buy an Australian one and it stops working here then Australia is the nearest repair place (until they are released here).

If you buy one in Australia but then it needs repairing while you're on holiday in Canada, then you can get it serviced there, it doesn't need to go back to Australia.
