Hello all.

Finally brought my self a car charging docking kit for my 3gs.
The first time it was used it charged my phone flawlessly, the next time I used it the phone told me it was not a recognised charger!??
I have managed to get it to charge since but that was after shutting down my phone then restarting (this has been tried since but can't seem to replicate my previous success).

Anyone know how I can rectify this issue.

Thanks.

Fants.

Do you have anything else like an iPod that could you try? Perhaps it's the charger itself?

Return it and buy a charger that works is my only suggestion.

Apple have changed their charger ID between the old phones and the 3gs - article on adafruit.com about it.

Lots of sellers of things never testing them etc saying they work.

USB charging spec was supposed to solve this, but hardly anyone is following it, and if they do, then the ports are not usable by other things sometimes, so the makers of the chargers will get returns.
