I am moving from the US to Australia in December.

I currently have an IPhone 3g. What kind of conversion does it take to be able to use it (permanently) on the Australian network?

Also, roughly how much does it cost for an IPhone 4 in Australia? I can upgrade mine to a 4 before I go. I would do so if it were worth it.

Thanks in advance!

Marc

As long as your phone is not carrier locked, just put in a local SIM, enter the APN etc. details, and it will work. If you want to know how much they cost, the best bet is to just look at some local web sites. Only Apple will sell you one that's not carrier locked in Aus.

The three big carriers are Telstra, Optus and Vodafone/Hutchison Australia. Telstra & Optus have good quality networks, with VHA a bit behind.
