If Airwatch is installed and you are not the one who installed it, then it must be there to follow some policy. Breaking the policy is not a good idea...

No you cannot do it on the device itself. Only the IT admin can do it for your particular device or the entire fleet of devices from the server. Love airwatch! Best MDM solution so far we have found.

Do whatever you want to do man.

I understand the policy. I just don't feel my company has the right to know where I am 24/7. Its a violation of privacy. From what I understood,Airwatch tracks you even if the cellular data & location services are turned off & even possibly the iPad itself. We are expected to keep it with us!

If location services is turned off, airwatch will not track the device. Seriously, the IT staff has better things to do than track other staff down. I have never bothered or ever wondered to see where this particuar device is right now. I have a policy set up on the airwatch server and it does it's job.

That's a different problem that you need to take up with your company, re: how you disagree with the policy. If it impacts privacy, then potentially the privacy commissioner may be used for a ruling?

Lastly it might also depend what is in your contract, there may be a clause about this - or it may have been overlooked which means you may have grounds for getting the software removed.

Think this way: one day you left it behind in a cafe, with Airwatch tracking off. The device is never recovered. Who you think the company will blame?

I wish I worked for a company that had better things to do. Comments have been made regarding where somebody was at a particular time while on call...a little unnerving. Thanks for the help. According to AW, turning off location services doesn't affect it's ability to track.

Bear in mind of course that 'being on-call' comes with some responsibility thats probably written down.
