Got the last 17 Pro from Harvey Norman today, they gave us $1050 for a 15 Pro Max 256 which seemed alright when it avoids the hassle of dealing with randoms.

I haven’t preordered before, but I’m amazed how much of a shambles it is with Spark. On the 19th they said 3-7 business days, and then on the 20th advised 3-4 weeks (both after being asked for more info on chat- otherwise complete radio silence since ordering on the 14th). I upgraded to the 65 dollar plan to get the preorder though too-

Gather from other comments that this comms style is the status quo though!

This happens every year... Telco's are the worst for preorders

work colleague ordered from pbtech Monday last week, phone showed up Tuesday this week on courier.

I'm waiting on Spark also, no eta :( but to be fair, my last pre-order with Spark was the 15 Pro and it arrived on launch day so they're 50% success rate for me.

I pre-ordered the 15 Pro Max's with Spark in 2023 and they got delivered the day of launch and the following Monday (ordered 2), did the same this year and they were both instantly backordered, however one of the orders just got shipped so we making progress!

I also just got that text from spark telling me it would be on the courier, only problem is I said to courier to the store not my home so...something is awry in the order system or the rep entered it wrong.

So at 7:01pm last night I received an email with confirmation of my in-store pre-order at One NZ, telling me they’ll let me know again when it arrives and I can collect it.

This is for an order I collected last Saturday 🤣

I’m looking forward to eventually getting the tracking email about the phone that was delivered on launch day, too!

I disagree. I’ve had 100% success rate with Telcos. People just need to understand that stock is limited and retail stores don’t know when they’re getting more stock when they sell out. This iPhone has proven to be quite popular.

The thing is you need to order at the stoke of midnight, not the next day or days later.

Placed my order on Saturday with One NZ and got a confirmation email straight away. This afternoon I received a second email from them. I thought maybe it had shipped, but no - the email was an identical copy of Saturday's order confirmation. No idea why.

Spark deliveries are all over the place - I tried to place an order at midnight on order day, however i was on the wrong plan and went in the next morning to a Spark store and ordered about 10.30am and got my two Pro Max’s delivered on release day, even though Spark’s delivery email only said one was being delivered. She who must be obeyed was very happy, other than she said my Blue was the best colour and the Silver she got looks like it has a big white sticker on the back that looks like it should be peeled.

Then have ordered two iPhone 17’s (placed the order with Spark on 24 September) and told it would be weeks away (which was fine as just for the kids) and the first one was delivered today and the second one is due for delivery tomorrow. All the while Apple saying 2-3 weeks on those.

Luck of the draw i guess.
