joker97:
DjShadow: Saw a tweet from Dick Smith a few hours ago where they indicate they will have the new iPhone on launch day, so gives the impression people can buy out-right from day 1

That's good if true. People better not camp overnight for that thing

I'd like to buy one outright on launch day if available, but won't be camping out!

I'll wait for the next release as I always update when the S version comes out. Not sure on which size though, will wait and try them in the hand. I also use a Lifeproof case and armband for running so will need to take the added bulk into consideration for this.

Thety are the biggest of the 4.7's and 5.5's due to the top and bottom bezel, but I read they are the thinnest and lightest of their competing models

you must have exactly same conditions to test that. easiest but not real world is to play same video at max brightness until phone shuts off

All the reviews I've read suggests getting a case for the iPhone 6 Plus.

That makes me want to get one of the official leather cases from Apple, the problem is they do not take orders for the case until the day which the phone launches. That is going to leave me few days (to account for shipping) without a case for the phone.

Does anyone know if NZ retailers stocked the iPhone 5S/C cases on the launch day?

Thats no problem for me, I use the leather case on my 5S, it doesn't look as good as when I first got it but still feels premium.
