Krishant007: I was told that there would be some midnight sale stores like Queen street Telecom branch... Hmm... never did the whole stand in line for any device before...

If this is correct (not doubting you in any way, I just haven't heard anything from Spark/Telecom directly) then I am keen.  I am after a 6+ (or two).  ANyone else keen?  If so what time are you planning?

BTW - Friday's weather is looking OK, by then this storm will have passed.

I went into the sylvia park store and was talking to the chap there and he mentioned that they normally have midnight launch stores and he was saying they can only open at 9am the earliest since the mall opens at that time. I dont think he told me that there will definitely be midnight launches, but he said if there is, then the Q St branch in auckland would be the one.

Anyone know for sure if Queen St will have a midnight launch?  I will be going if there is.

@pokecenter - Are you in Auckland too?  It looks like the Queen St Telecom (Spark) store is the place to go to, but I haven't seen any confirmation they will have a midnight launch.

Anyone like to suggest a time to meet or to start queuing?  I was thinking about 4pm on Friday?

If you have a look here they will have a line

http://www.sparkeq.co.nz/stores.html

Unfortunately spark is fully packed already with their EQ, which is a similar copy to samsung's S4 launch, only difference is spark takes up more space on the street with their advertising.

I am still having my fingers crossed for other stores to have them in stock, and hopefully maybe retailers such as dick smith and noel leeming might have 1 or 2 in each store too....

Will see how it plays out...

Keeping my eyes wide open :)

Thanks for the info, hadn't seen that.  I have to say how f-ing stupid an idea that is!  It takes away from the fun and excitement of queuing, replacing it with a faceless, stupid looking thing which is probably the brainchild of some bored Spark marketing executive trying to make it big.

That really puts me off the whole thing.  How do Spark plan to cater for anyone (I mean a real person) who turns up to queue?  Are they going to turn them away?  What happens if they get 100 people queuing before the dumb Eq characters turn up?

I think I would rather just try a retail store on Saturday morning.

What's going to be interesting is, I doubt the will have enough stock for the 100 people lining up. What is 80 of them wanted the 6+ 64gb?   Will they really have enough of the right model/size/color/ in store to cater the 100? I am sure there will be disappointments on the day

As there already has been many disappointments with their Friday morning preorders

What disappointment? Is this around the lack of communication or have they announced that some people on the pre-order will have to wait?

Dissapointment in

1. Allow you to preorder with off contract plan, and trying force you on a 24 month after your online preorder
2. Preorder two iPhones online, then tell you the following week you can only have one
3. No information in regards to iphone arrival but last week when i emailed they told me will receive on 26th

If they don't know what's going on or how many stock they are getting. Stop misleading the consumers!

I'm still undecided about which size to get. I'm moving up from the 4S and love the idea of a larger phone but not sure how practical the 6 Plus would be until I actually use it. Battery life and OIS are big incentives to get the 6 Plus instead of the 6 for me.

Will probably order from the Apple Online Store. Has anyone had any experience with their return/refund process and how easy/difficult it is?
From their iPhone return policy on http://store.apple.com/nz/help/returns_refund I believe I have up to 14 days to return it if I'm not satisfied. I'm assuming "the phone is too large" falls under that?

Sounds like you need the 6.

Unless you like to take good pictures, then you need the plus. Simple as that.

After seeing this, then scanning the web, I am not so sure about the 6 plus

http://tvnz.co.nz/technology-news/apple-fans-claim-iphone-6-plus-bends-in-pockets-6090878

Maybe the device is a bit to thin for the size, may have to looking after it like a baby.

This guys phone is actually slight bent, even before he ruined it completely by using excessive force

The 6 + takes better pictures?
