two words.

optical stabilization.

that means the lens does not move when your fingers tremble, very good for low light shots where it will use a slower shutter speed allowing the use of lower ISO and clearer pic. in fact it works even in medium and normal light shots, and you get a clearer picture due to the lens not moving around with your shaky hand. no benefit in very bright conditions when the shutter speed needs to be very high. no benefit when your subject is moving - eg kids, windy night, etc

even better for video the scene won't shake around like mad making viewers nauseated

(BTW most high end android has OPTICAL stabilization. note digital pic stabilization is a gimmick and degrades the picture trying to keep it still - i am picking the 6S will get optical stabilization and a smaller body)

A5X: After seeing this, then scanning the web, I am not so sure about the 6 plus

http://tvnz.co.nz/technology-news/apple-fans-claim-iphone-6-plus-bends-in-pockets-6090878

Maybe the device is a bit to thin for the size, may have to looking after it like a baby.

This guys phone is actually slight bent, even before he ruined it completely by using excessive force

Made me think "who would put a huge phone in pockets so tight that it would get bent?". But the companion video of the Note 3 made me think it is a possible design flaw. So now it's " don't put it in water, the microwave or your pocket."

I do hate seeing people wreck perfectly good handsets when others are still lining up to receive theirs. Salutatory note to those with bent phones, straightening them may crack the glass. Buy bigger pockets I guess.

I would have thought you must have pretty big pockets to buy a big, ugly iphone 5s anyways.

Not me. Short arms and long pockets! That's why I don't have an iPhone.

Are there any stores in Auckland with both models on display?

Try Vodafone Queen St - they have at least one, however I couldn't tell which ones as there was a queue on Friday just to see/play with the demo model (yes, a queue to see a phone, not to buy it).

I went into Voda in Queen St Akl today and have to say, that plus is a MONSTER.

I made my mind up on the spot that there aren't enough features to convince me to go a plus...

I went to Spark WestGate and they do have both models on display.  The 6+ looks like a Note 3 size, so not too massive (when you get used to that size).

However I was told by the very helpful girl working there that no-one in NZ had a 6+ yet, as they hadn't even arrived in the country!  I wasn't quite sure how to handle that one, so said thanks and left.  I thinks some training is needed there (anyone from Spark reading this??????)

Yes I have had my plus for just over 12 hours and it is huge, but that screen! it is impressive.

However it sits in my shirt pocket with only the top showing out and in my pants pocket (oh no!) it is fine.

It's amazing how quickly humans can adapt to a new norm.
When I got the 6 Plus on Friday, I kept thinking about what a monster of a thing it was. A few days later, when I pick up my partner's 5s, it feels constrained and too tiny.
Battery life on the 6 Plus is well worth putting up wit the size for me.

I ordered a iphone 6 at around 11:05am on the 26th. Never ordered a phone from the Apple store before and I am suuuper excited!!! At the present time it is schedule to arrive before the estimated dates given by Apple. Currently it's in Hong Kong TNT. Does anybody know how long order's roughly stay sitting at the Hong Kong depot?
