I'm confused as hell here. I downloaded the zip file and unzipped it (Payload folder) inside that was the Telecom_nz.bundle folder. Inside that are a bunch of.plist files and a couple of .png picture files....
What am I doing wrong here....cant find any .icpp file??

This is what I done
download the file
don't unzip
change the file name to .ipcc
and update

PhilD: Ok, i have read all the posts here but I have a delemer.

I have an iPhone 3G on Telecom XT network - running O/S 3 and iTunes 8.2

How do I get your icpp file onto my phone? O/S 3 iPhones requires 8.2 iTunes to work?? at least thats what it said when I connected up my phone to an iTunes 8.1

Hi,

We have locked US 3G iphones running 2.2.1 (5H11) Carrier 2.9, Modem Firmware 02.30.03.
For our time in NZ, we have a hardware unlock TurboSIM don't know the name of this, but it's black, not gold.
We have strong, reliable signal on Telecom with perfect 3G.
We can make outgoing phone calls and send text messages.

HOWEVER
•When people call us the phone does not ring or register in any way that a call has been received. (They can leave voicemails.)
•Text messages sent to us are not delivered UNTIL we place an ougoing phonecall, at which point text messages arrive in a flood.

We called Telecom. They reset something which caused us to lose connection and we had to reset network settings, put the apn in again, etc. Not helpful.

Is this about "carrier settings"? If so, what should they be set to? This part is unclear in the instructions in this thread (says "Now you can now select your .ipcc file" ?), but we aren't sure it's relevant to us anyway since our 3G connection is working fine.

Also we are afraid to sync because we're worried this accounted for the unreliability during the first few days. Itunes offered to "update carrier settings" but we said "no way" worried this was an evil plot to disrupt turbosim function. So we've been charging from the wall ever since, avoiding any contact between the evil itunes and our phones. Any advice about that?

The first few days here (with the turbosims in) the phones were reluctant to establish any connection, so we worry that what we have is fragile. (And way better than no phone/3G at all.) Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you!

I think you have an issue with TurboSim. Update to 3.0, then unlock with Ultrasn0w. http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4253

FYI, everything appears to be working fine with iPhone 3G and OS 3.1 and XT carrier file.

BTW, I still find that if you send a txt to multiple recipients it gets send as MMS and you get charged for it.

This is easily fixed.

Change in the ipcc file

GroupModeEnabled
true

to

GroupModeEnabled
false

maybe nzbullet might want to change this in his version of the Telecom IPCC file..

I finally decided to give this a go and just installed the .ipcc as directed. Now my iPhone is coming up with No Service in the upper left hand corner. I checked my settings and all the cellular data settings etc are set to Telecom.

What did I do wrong?

Have you got 3G switched on in the settings? 3G must be switched on to work on XT network
