Always call Apple for iPhone repairs. Speak to them very nicely about your issue if its out of warranty. They will say its out of warranty but then you say but can you do anything as the CGA says its fit for purpose for the lifetime of the product. Also this is a known fault and you will usually get them to replace it and they will say its goodwill on their behalf.

I always thought under the CGA I was entitled to deal with the supplier who in this case is Vodafone?
