So, after a week and a half of using a phone the size of which I used to mock others for having, I now pick up a 5S and it seems like a tiny kids toy. Go figure.

Not mind control, I don't like the bigger screen because Apple says I should - I've just gotten used to it is all. I'm quite sure if I went back to using an iPhone 5, after an initial day of cursing the small screen, I would be perfectly fine and would soon not miss the larger screen.

Apple certainly hasn't reinvented the wheel with the iPhone 6, and going with the bigger screen is certainly  a reaction to popularity of larger Android phones.

And without wanting to start and Apple vs Android thread, I just like iOS because it is far simpler to use (in my opinion). This simplicity of use is certainly traded off against extra features and customization that Android offers though. One is not better than the other, they each have different strengths.

Edit: typos

So iPhone users have been asking for bigger screens for a number of years, Apple finally obliges so iPhone users upgrade to the latest device and it is mind control?

I don't get the logic?

Perhaps not the "these are not the droids you're looking for" type mind control, but more the type of mind control that really slick advertising produces.
