Thanks for the heads up, was just about to drop some coin on an upgrade for my daughter, pleased I decided to wait another week. I was aiming for the mini 4 but with the price difference so small wondering if it would be better going for the 'ipad' (seriously Apple...you couldn't come up with a more logical naming convention!!!!) to get the later chip for a bit more future proofing.
What does not having the laminated screen mean? We have several Apple products including older ipads in the house, what makes this one so different when the Apple claim is its a better screen?
Anyone know or has an educated guess when the new iPad will be in store? Apple on-line only says available to order after 25th.
Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
clinty: Harveys are starting a sale tomorrow and have 36mths interest free on apple and ipad, for those who may want to trade up :)

Apparently according to some, there could be an update on the pro models sometime this year, perhaps April , but maybe September. The big one is getting a bit long in the tooth. I don't think they are big sellers, due to the high price, where you could buy a windows surface that does a lot more.
Oubadah:
Is the 9.7 Pro going to be refreshed any time soon. mattwnz makes a good point about longevity in terms of ongoing updates. The Air 2 is a few years old at this point. What's the typical support time-frame for iOS devices, 5 years?
Depends on the model. For the 1st ipad I think they only provided updates for a couple of years. The ipad 2 had about 5 years. But for phones they seem to update for around 4-5 years these days. But Apple doesn't seem to have any rules around it, so it is all just guess work.

Apparently the new one is 'brighter'.
This is the difference with a laminated screen, and supposedly laminated are better

Apparently it is also missing the anti-reflective coating. So potentially it may not be as good for outdoors use.

Thanks, yes I couldn't figure out why Apple was talking up the new screen, while others saying that not being laminated was bad.
It's for a birthday present so hopefully not to long before it's in the shops. Retailers clearly haven't caught up yet looking at their websites.

those tempted by the red iphone can get a $10 skin from dbrands and still achieve the same look, and save a bit in transaction , if that helps :)

Tried that when I first got my iPhone 7 Plus, it seems they changed the way skins are applied as I couldn't get any of the edges smooth where as I achieved the perfect installation on Note 7 and Surface Pro 4.

I am going overseas at the end of next week and wanted one before I go so I can load it up with movies etc but don't want to order only for it to turn up while I am away.
Does anyone know if any stores have them in stock yet? I tried NL but they just said no stock and only Apple know when they will get some. I was wanting to go throhg them for the Fly buys.
Has anyone ordered one yet from the Apple website ? I am interested in how long the delivery is. The website says it ships in 1-2 business days but leaving and arriving are two different times. And leaving from NZ warehouse is different to leaving from a warehouse in china.
Thanks

Hmmm might have to sell my black iPhone 7 Plus and get a (Product)RED one.
Am I the only one who thinks the (Product)RED one would look better with a black front?

its not so much about looks but about the cause it is supporting, HIV/AIDS.

Regardless of how good the cause is, I wouldn't drop that sort of coin on one of these unless I thought it looked really good. And for me, the white face just doesn't do it.
Every Apple announcement makes me think of this...

In that case it seems to me that black would be a more appropriate colour for the face.
