Yes, but other posters were asking how/if it could be turned off. This will hopefully help them do this.

Yep, sorry.

Settings -> Mobile -> App Store to toggle cellular data on/off for the App Store

Settings -> iTunes & App Store - Automatic downloads - toggle on/off for music or apps downloaded from other devices and updates.

Er yes. My point is that those were set to 'off' before the update, and seemed to have changed afterwards.

I check every setting after updates. I also don't update unless it forces me to.

Dingbatt: Oh dear. I hope the split screen thing pulling in from the side isn't for Apple apps only. I rely on two third party apps at once using that function for part of my work.

Lots of third party apps support split screen now. So many, in fact, that it's become a bit of a mission scrolling through them all. I don't *think* there's any way of culling the list.

That is probably why they have moved to this new system, because the old system required you to search in the list. From inside an app, you can now hold an apps icon from dock, and drag it up, then press the home button, and then open another app while still holding down the icon. Then you release the icon where you want the windowed app to open, and that lets use both those apps at the same time. Then you drag it up to put it ion split screen mode. Think they could improve this though as it is a bit  clunky. It would be good if you could split screen two open apps from the apps in the control centre, by just pulling up both thumbnails to the top of the screen.

I thought by now it would have been common knowledge (or common sense?) to go through all settings after an update and check that everything is how you want it.  I did not have the same issue as the OP (was off before, and still off after) but there were a couple of other settings that had definitely changed, including Bluetooth which always end up being turned on after updates.

I was impressed with the update, including how it offered to delete and re-install apps automatically to free up space during the process, a nice touch where memory was limited.  So far liking the updates.

Do you know how to turn off the automatic hotspot business that happens when you have more than one iDevice? I think I've been through ever single page in Settings and I only found the one Hot Spot switch. Google seems to suggest that it cannot be disabled, but that can't be right.

I don't think this can be disabled at all, having spent some time trying to. A negative side effect is it keeps enabling wifi on devices where it has been deliberately turned off.
