I loved my 6+, and would have almost certainly chose an X+ if available.
The X is great but otherwise I personally would have definitely gone with an 8+.
Never really had any issues with the size other than it not fitting nicely into the centre console of the car.

I recently upgraded my 11yo daughter from a 6s to a 8+ and she has had no issue dealing with the bigger size...

If you like the idea of a larger screen trust me you will make it work and never look back or regret

My 13yo daughter now wants to leave us and be adopted by you! Poor petal having to make do with a crappy Nokia windows8 phone!

She started out with a Nokia 520, never forgave me 😂😂😂

The 8+ was a long time coming and was only meant to be a 7+ but in the end thought it more project to buy the newer model, I think most on here would suffer the same thought process 😂😂😂

It's also worth considering this question in the context of what other devices you have. If you have an iPad then the larger iPhone is harder to justify.

I did think of that. I do have an iPad. I think it’s gen 2 or 3. It closes apps if they’re too memory intensive for it and even the simplest safari pages now fit that category. I hardly use it.

Personally I'd wait till the the end of this year if you can because the move from 7 to 8 or X is a modest upgrade where as at least with the next version it'll be more sizeable step forward particularly if the rumours regarding the next version will be the move to the iPhone X design becoming the mainstream iPhone device.

The OP said he’s starting a new job - with a new phone - in a couple of weeks. How can he wait until the end of the year?

Apart from that, the end of the year is a helluva long way off - and if you’re always waiting for the next model to be released, you’ll never end up buying anything.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Hi all

I'm currently running an iPhone 7 which I love. I'm starting a new job in a few weeks and have the option of an 8 or an 8 plus. Seeing as I'm not actually paying the money for the phone, I was thinking I might try the 8 plus but I'm a little cautious about it's size.

What are your experiences with the plus size phones? Any buyers remorse? Do you drop it more than you would a smaller phone? How is it in your pocket? I generally don't run with my phone so that's not an issue for me.

Whatever I get, it will be the sole phone I run and I'll be doing something with my 7 (probably selling it, but one of my kids may inherit it).

Thanks for your thoughts.

How big are your pockets?

Big pocket - go big.
