Thank you, everyone, for all your suggestions have found some wonderful apps! If anyone else any ideas please post them up this could be a really helpful thread for other iOS/Mac users.

Authy for two factor authentication, if you need that.

WhatsApp for messaging.

Firefox for browsing. Or Firefox Focus for private browsing.

^I used to too, but I find Spotlight to be sufficient in recent version of macOS.
